So I put on my sweet Sherlock Holmes hat, puffed my pipe and got to work figuring out the problem. With Vista they took out the MIDI mapper and the "exclusive rights" route doesn't work either. Then if that didn't work you could simply go into your audio settings and set your audio device to not set exclusive rights to the audio device. In Windows XP there used to be a MIDI mapper that you could use to simply disable Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth and go about your business. After scouring the interwebs I happened upon a bunch of ways to fix this.for Windows XP, not Windows Vista (go figure). When we installed the ASIO4ALL 2.10 drivers and fired up FL Studio the ASIO driver interface said that the drivers couldn't be initialized because they were being used by "MS GS Wavetable Synth". ![]() My friend wanted to have FL Studio on his laptop as well, so we installed it on his. ![]() Everything worked like a charm, no problems. I installed FL Studio perfectly fine the first time through on my laptop, then installed the ASIO4ALL 2.10 drivers. The other day I was doing some recording with a friend using FL Studio 8 on my trusty laptop.
